View XML Files

The XML (standing for Extensible Markup Language) format is used to encode files in a machine-readable form using tags for defining objects as well as their attributes. The XML document format is suitable for storing or transferring information over the web or between applications.

The XML format is similar to HTML as far as formatting goes, but the former also uses custom tags for defining objects and the data within each item.

Basic XML files can be opened using numerous text processors since they are formatted as text documents.

The more complex XML files may require specialized apps that will also allow users to modify their contents.
