View FITS Files

FITS (short for Flexible Image Transport System) is an image file format mainly used for storing grabbed frames from telescope observations.

The FITS foramt was specially developed to save and store astronomical image data in a standard way, and FITS graphic files usually include both binary data and ASCII text.

When users want to view their FITS image files, they will need to choose and use a compatible graphic viewer that features built-in support for this particular image format.

Although most FITS viewing apps do not feature support for editing functions, there are some of them that will also allow users to rotate and export their images to other graphic formats.
