SSH (acronym for Secure Shell) is a network protocol based on a secure channel between two network devices, for the purpose of transferring data.

There are two major versions of this protocol, called SSH1(SSH-1) and SSH2 (SSH-2).

SSH clients provide users with a graphical user interface for this type of protocol and will also offer additional functions.
