Playlists are files containing a list of locations for several video and/or audio files that can be played using almost any audio or video players.
Playlists allow their users to easily manage and organize their multimedia files so that they can play only the chosen tracks one by one or in a random order, without needing to push any more buttons or keys.
Because playlists only include the absolute and relative location of files, users will not be able to play the files that have been renamed, moved or deleted.
M3U players will automatically load these locations and will play the referenced tracks. If a path is invalid, the corresponding file will not be played.
M3U players will also offer their users the option to export their playlists to other formats. (PLS or M3U are the most common).
