    EPS (acronym for Encapsulated PostScript) is an image file format that can include 2D vector data, images and text. EPS is widely used for distributing image files between various operating systems.

    EPS files usually describe images and drawings, and they may also contain embedded preview thumbnails in bitmap format. Additionally, EPS picture files may be placed within another PostScript item.

    In order to open their EPS files, users will have to use a specialized application that comes with built-in support for this specific image format.
