File Managers Apps and Alternatives

A file manager is an application that provides user's with a GUI which eases one's work with files.

File managers are used due of the wide variety of file operations they provide, such as: open, edit, move, copy, delete, rename, print, burn, play, sync, pack, search, split, etc.

Most file managing apps also improve the way users navigate through different locations by offering a dual pane view, an hierarchy view, or even back and forward navigational buttons.

Users are ususally allowed to customize these apps according to their own needs, such as icon types, colors, and size or view mode.
