Users that have LCD based monitors know that having a display with dead pixels is one of the most annoying things that could happen for someone that uses their computer for design or even for browsing the web and viewing video content.

To answer this problem, developers have created a type of application dubbed dead pixel detector which, besides pinpointing the dead pixels on one's LCD screen, will also try to fix them using a large variety of methods.

Moreover, to make things clearer, pixels are the lowest units that make up raster images and they're also the smallest unit which compose LCD (liquid crystal display) screens.
