SVG (acronym for Scalable Vector Graphics) is a two-dimensional vector image format created to save and store vector graphic files.

Because the SVG image format is based on XML structure and it may store static and animated vector data, SVG can be defined in XML text files allowing users to index, search and compress data.

If users want to create SVG files, they will need to choose and use a specialized graphic converter that has built-in support for this particular format.

Before exporting their images to the SVG format, users will also be able to apply effects to their source images.
