RAS (acronym for Sun Raster Graphic) is an image raster format developed and used by Sun Microsystems. The RAS format is used to save image files that can be uncompressed or compressed, using the RLE graphics compression method.
Because RAS is not a very popular image format, users have the option to use graphic converters to convert their RAS images to more common formats.
These specialized apps will also enable their users to choose the output format they need.
Furthermore, one may also use RAS converters to quickly preview RAS images and to rotate or apply various graphic effects.
