PAT (the acronym for Pattern) is an mage file format based on the bitmap standard and typically used to save patterns that can be later used for making textured backgrounds.
Because the PAT format is not very popular, users will usually want to convert their files to other image formats so that they can manage them using a wider selection of graphic apps.
PAT image converters will also offer their users the option to quickly preview their images, as well as to perform basic editing operations on the original source image (e.g. rotation, croppping, flipping).
