Convert DWG Files

DWG (short for AutoCAD Drawing) is a vector image format created for storing two- or three-dimensional design data. A DWG file can store not only design data, but also metadata which includes references to the file contents.

Although it is the most popular format used for storing CAD files (Computer-Aided Design), users still require a specialized app for viewing or editing their DWGs, therefore they will convert these files to other image formats supported by a wider range of applications.

Converting DWG files to other formats will allow them to become compatible to with a larger array of apps and, thus, they will be easier to access and edit.

Users should keep in mind that exporting DWG to plain image files will cause the DWG's layers' information to be lost.
