Katana for Mac
Katana is a straightforward note taking application that offers everything you need to take notes and edit, share or export them to PDF files.
From Katana’s minimalist interface you can easily create new notes, search through existing ones and share them with your friends, family and co-workers via Email, Messages, Facebook or twitter.
The simple dual panel design helps you manage and organize all your notes and search for the note you need with just a few keystrokes. On top of that, the “Distraction Free Mode” can help you focus on your work and note content by temporarily hiding unnecessary panels.
Katana enables you to save your notes in plain text, but you can also format your notes and adjust their style and shape by taking advantage of the built-in markdown syntax highlighter. In other words, Katana automatically formats the text as you type, allowing you to concentrate and keep your ideas in order.
What is more, Katana also features a powerful built-in search engine capable to search your notes by content, name or tag. All displayed notes are filtered as you type and all matches are automatically highlighted.
The great thing about Katana is that it creates and stores your notes as plain text files and, as a result, you don’t always need to use Katana or other third-party applications in order to handle, store or access your notes.
Although Katana does not offer a synchronization feature per se, you can sync your notes with other devices and computers using third-party applications like Dropbox or SugarSync. Moreover, you can fully customize Katana to your needs, change the editor colors and fonts and assign global system keyboard shortcuts to display the application or create a new note.
In conclusion, Katana is a simple and well-featured note taking application that enables you to focus on your work and avoid other distractions.
