(Un)colored For Mac

Worrying about text formatting and other distractions can interrupt your creative process when writing. (Un)colored is a small yet efficient word processor designed to provide a clean workspace while keeping everything you need close at hand.

The (Un)colored user interface comes as clean as it gets: the main window is reserved entirely for the writing, there are no buttons active at all times, and the app can work in full-screen mode.

However, (Un)colored does include an autohiding toolbar that becomes visible if you hover your mouse in the top area of the window. Here you can choose to create new documents or open existing ones, and (Un)colored will keep them organized into tabs.

In addition, (Un)colored sports a contextual menu that includes all the formatting tools and becomes visible when you select a piece of text (alternatively you can also hold down the Option key to make it appear).

To help you get started, (Un)colored comes with a Quick Guide that takes you through all the essential functions. Note that you can open the file at any time via the (Un)colored top toolbar.

The same area provides access to all the included file management tools, sports a search bar, and gives you the option to view statistical info about the current document, such as the number of paragraphs, sentences, words, characters, and more.

Worth mentioning is that the (Un)colored documents can be saved using the Markdown or the HTML file formats and that the latter comes with support for themes.

Bottom line, (Un)colored delivers a distraction free workspaces that still manages to deliver access to most elementary formatting tools. The editor keeps the documents easily accessible via tabs, and also features predefined hotkeys for most functions.
