The Markdown markup offers you the possibility to use a particular syntax to format text and ensure the layout and style is preserved when converted to other formats.

MarkRight is a minimalist OS X application that offers you the possibility to format plain text using Markdown syntax and preview the results in real time, thus reducing the time spent on editing the data.

The MarkRight user interface is represented by a single window split in the middle: on the left side you get to input the plain text and use Markdown syntax while on the right side of the window you can preview the adjustments as soon as you make any.

The utility should automatically update the markdown preview area, but you can also reload the data using the Command+R hotkey. Take into consideration that MarkRight reloads the source text file, so make sure to save your data before using this function.

MarkRight provides support for copy paste commands, but can also open files directly via the app’s File menu. The same menu integrates the save commands, but during our test, attempting to save a file triggered a JavaScript error, which might be problematic.

For your convenience, MarkRight comes with full-screen support and enables you to toggle the visibility of the Electron developer tools. As a result, you can see the app’s elements, source, timeline, to record heap allocations, and so on.

MarkRight provides a clean space for working on documents using the Markdown markup: you get to open the files, make the necessary adjustments, and preview the results in real time.

MarkRight can also work in full-screen mode which is great when you need to focus on the task at hand.
