Cutter was originally developed as a Renderman text editor but now includes the ability to create, render, compile and edit rib documents and shading language source code files.
Cutter evolved into a text editor for numerous scripting languages like Java, HTML, Perl, Python and Tcl.
Cutter can be used to automatically display an appropriate web page from the online documentation.
Cutter is developed using the Java programming language and can be run on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
