Irvue For Mac

Having an interesting desktop to look at can be a real mood changer: Irvue is a simple macOS utility that automatically replaces your wallpaper periodically using images published on the unsplash.com website.

unsplash.com offers the images for free and adds 10 new pictures every 10 days. Note that you can browse the currently available photos by visiting the website.

The Irvue user interface is represented by a simple status bar menu that provides access to all available controls and customization options. The application can change the wallpaper on its own, but you can also trigger the procedure manually.

Moreover, the Irvue app can use only images from the featured collection or go through all available images. By default, the app uses the photo’s publishing order, but you can also randomize the list.

The wallpaper changer scheduler can be disabled altogether, or you can just adjust its refresh frequency. You can blacklist images to make sure you never see it again.

Within the utility’s main menu you can see details about the photo’s author and follow the link to the unsplash.com website to view its entire photo collection.

Since the photos are made available for free, you can also download them to your Mac: Irvue will automatically send them to your Pictures folder.

Other customization options include the possibility to change the wallpaper for all spaces, or only on the currently active one. You can also choose to receive notifications whenever the wallpaper changes, which include the author’s name.

On the whole, Irvue proves to be extremely easy to use and provides easy access to a collection of high-quality photographic images that will make your desktop look fabulous.
