Live Desktop For Mac

Live Desktop is a lightweight OS X application that aims to bring weather related information and stylish clocks on your Mac’s desktop.

Like in the case of many applications of this sort, after Live Desktop has finished installing on your Mac, it can be easily accessed from OS X’s status bar by clicking its item.

Live Desktop bundles (at the time of our test) twenty-seven stylish and customizable themes with a large variety of clock wallpapers, weather wallpapers, and other types of wallpapers.

In order to enable Live Desktop to do its magic, you must click on its status bar item, go to the Preferences menu, select the Appearance tab and click the “Choose Themes” button.

After a theme is selected, from within the same Appearance tab, you can enable the app to work with multiple monitors or to only work for the current monitor, you can choose specific wallpaper options, as well as use 24-hour format for the time display.

Choosing the weather location can be easily done by clicking the “Choose” button from the lower right side of Appearance menu, writing the name of your city, selecting it from the list, and by clicking the “Add” button. What’s more, you can also setup the temperature to be displayed in Celsius or Fahrenheit.

By clicking the “Edit Mode” option from the status bar menu, you can also adjust the themes’ layouts and the positions for each weather, time, and calendar element.

Taking all things into consideration, if you are bored with your Mac’s desktop default layout and looks, and you want to have weather and time related information right in front of you all the time, then Live Desktop is worthy of your attention.
