A lot of us love cats, and there are countless studies and shared experiences from other cat owners that evoke the benefits of owning one. It's calm, detached and minds its own business. Its energy can come in handy whenever yours is unbalanced. Egyptians revered them as holy creatures, and it is believed that cats stave off negative feelings like stress, depression, and even certain diseases.

Not all cats are the same, and not every feline companionship is enjoyable. Sometimes they can do more harm than good, so it may not be worth the time, effort, money and emotional involvement. Instead, you can double click on the “Neko” icon to bring the cat companion on the desktop. It's straightforward to handle and compatible with newer OSes.

Being a cat owner represents a challenge and asks for responsibility, but it's not without benefits. Even so, if you are confined or if a pet is simply not suitable for you, there are other alternatives like Neko that manage to bring at least part of the same feeling and smile.
