iVideoConverter For Mac

iVideoConverter is a simple video converter for Mac OS X that enables you to encode a variety of video formats to several popular audio and video formats. It features a minimalistic user interface and a decent amount of features.

First of all, you can add files using the toolbar button or by dragging and dropping them onto the main window. Afterwards, the app will list them as a compact list with the following details: name, duration, source format, target and progress.

IVideoConverter supports numerous input video / audio formats, such as 3GP, 3G2, ASF, AVI, FVL, MP4, MOV, WMW or MPG. Moreover, the output formats include MP3, MP4, WAV, 3GPP and M4a.

The target format can be selected via the Preferences window or the Settings window, which are basically the same. In both windows you can choose the output format and folder, as well as to change several audio and video settings, such as audio bitrate, sample, channels, resolution, framerate and video bitrate.

Batch processing is possible only after selecting all the files in the table. If not, just the selected individual item will be converted. What makes matters worse is that, if you need to change the target format while files are displayed in the list, you need to remove and add the files again in order for the change to take effect.

IVideoConverter is a not a great choice in terms of OS X video converters. It provides 2 similar preferences windows, batch conversion could use some work, the progress bar is lacking and more. Still, it can be useful if you need to quickly convert individual videos from time to time.
