iMkvExtract For Mac

iMkvExtract is a minimalist and straightforward OS X application designed to make it simple and fast to analyze, display and extract the content of MKV video files using a Mac.

MKV is the file name extension for the Matroska video format, an open standard container format capable of storing multiple video, audio and image files and subtitle track within a single file.

Matroska aims is to be used as a universal format for storing multimedia content such as TV shows, movies and more.

Moreover, the Matroska multimedia format features four different files extensions: MKV for video files, MKA for audio, MK3D for stereoscopic video and MKS for subtitles only.

The iMkvExtract application provides you with an intuitive and user-friendly interface with the help of which you can effortlessly load any Matroska multimedia file that you want to process.

From iMkvExtract’s main window, you will also be able to choose the output folder where all extracts media files will be saved upon extraction.

Once the file is loaded within iMkvExtract and automatically analyzed, you can select the exact tracks and attachments that you want to extract and, upon clicking the Extract button, rapidly them onto your Mac’s hard drive.

On the whole, although it doesn’t follow Apple’s Mac OS X Human Interface Guidelines, iMkvExtract manages to provide you with a simple enough to use user interface and with all the tools you will need to quickly extract the contents of any MKV video file with just a click of a button.
