Sears For Mac

Sears is a very easy to use subtitle editing application that enables you to open subtitle files, browse their content, edit the text and then re-synchronize them for the target video file.

The application has been developed on the Java platform and, as a result, you must make sure Java is installed on your Mac before launching Sears.

Sears can open the subtitle file and you will be able to see the content in table form: each line has a number, the start and end date, and the actual text string. You can choose to delay certain entries or you can resynchronize the whole file.

To achieve that, you must open the movie in the video player and select 2 subtitle entries as far from each other as possible. Note that you must extract the exact real time for each of those entries. The information will be required in the Resynchro window.

You can split the subtitle file, append another file or repair the content: the app provides basic text editing tools.

The Sears Options panel offers you the possibility to change the interface language, enables you to choose one of the four interface themes and allows you to select the icon set you want to use. You can set up the video player that should be used by default by Sears.

Sears is a simple but very efficient application that will prove to be a great addition to your software collection whenever you need to edit or resynchronize subtitle files.
