Screencast-O-Matic Pro is a simple and practical Mac OS X application that provides an intuitive and smooth-running solution for teachers, students and users that provide tech support via screencasts.

To start using Screencast-O-Matic Pro, you just have to download and mount the DMG disk image and copy the app to a location of your choice, preferably the Applications directory. From Screencast-O-Matic Pro’s main window you can instantly initiate the recording process and make the desired changes and adjustments.

Hence, you can change the audio source, monitor and adjust the sound level, change the recording resolution and select the video source. Screencast-O-Matic Pro is able to automatically detect all available audio and vide sources.

The resolution of your screencast can be set to VGA, 800 x 600, Small, Medium or Full HD or to fullscreen. When you are happy with your settings you can use the predefined keyboard shortcut to start and pause the recording process.

During the recording session you can view and place the video feed of your webcam anywhere you like. You can pause and resume the recording multiple times and hit the “Done” button when your screencast is complete.

What is more, Screencast-O-Matic Pro helps you preview your video, resize or trim it, change the playback speed, add transitions and overlays, edit the audio and more. Moreover, you can take screenshots, use scripts, draw and zoom while recording.

When you are happy with your project you can upload it to YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo, as well as other popular video sharing and file storage websites. You can password protect your uploads and keep them private.
