Motion FX For Mac

Motion FX is a great application that enables you to apply amazing effects to your movies in real time by using your iSight camera or any other video capturing device connected to your Mac.

By default, Motion FX will display in its main window the video feed grabbed by your built-in camera but you can easily switch between devices from the “Camera” menu. The same area allows you to adjust the simulation quality: press on the Performance entry.

However, from the Options drop down menu you can choose to hide the video capture altogether. This way, the effect will be triggered by your movement but you will not appear in the recording.

Motion FX offers you the possibility to trigger the effects in 5 modes: motion detect (the effect is applied to any identified movement), face detect (the effect will avoid your face), color detect (you must choose a color that emits the effects), effect paint (you get to direct the effects using your mouse or trackpad) and video warp (create warp effects with the mouse/trackpad).

The application comes with a collection of over 80 effects which you can easily select from the bottom bar or by using the arrows placed in the top toolbar. Moreover, you can cycle between them automatically at different speeds: very slow, slow, normal, fast or very fast.

Motion FX allows you to quickly grab snapshots or record videos that will be automatically sent to your Pictures or Movies folder respectively.

Motion FX is a very intuitive and easy to use application that enables you to quickly add beautiful effects to your video feed in no time. Still, keep in mind that you can use only the ones included in the default collection: you cannot add your own or customize the effects in any way.
