    An easy to use application that adds closed caption to video files

    MacCaption is a tool that encodes captions onto video without going down a generation.

    MacCaption requires a fully prepared, time coded caption file from another source, such as the CaptionMaker (Windows) or MacCaption (Macintosh), Cheetah (*.asc) among others.

    With MacCaption you can easily enhance your video by adding a close caption.

    Here are some key features of "MacCaption":

    Closed-captioning features:
    · Pop-on, Paint-on and Roll-up mode closed-caption encoding
    · Italic, Underline, and Flash character attribute support
    · Multi-color character support
    · Drag and Drop closed caption decoding (MacCaption only)
    · Input description files can be taken from a CPC CaptionMaker file
    · Works with G3/G4 Mac computers as well as Avid, Media 100, TARGA

    MPEG closed captioning and subtitling features (MacCaption only):
    · Drag and drop closed caption decoding
    · Direct insertion of closed captions into MPEG-2 video assets
    · Automatic creation of subtitles for Spruce and DVD Studio Pro authoring systems

    Real time features (MacCaption only):
    · Real time closed caption decoding
    · Real time display of DV video with closed captions using FireWire
    · DV input and output over FireWire

    QuickTime captioning features:
    · Ability to select font type and size
    · User control over caption placement
    · Automatic caption insertion into QuickTime Text Track
    · Input description files can be taken from a CPC CaptionMaker file

    RealVideo captioning features:
    · Automatic generation of RealText ".rt" description files
    · Display times calculated from time codes in CCaption/MacCaption description file
    · Input description files can be taken from a CPC CaptionMaker file

    DVD closed captioning features:
    · Automatic generation of .cc and .scc closed caption description files
    · Compatibility with many DVD authoring systems
    · Input description files can be taken from a CPC CaptionMaker file

    Open-captioning features:
    · Ability to generate single or multiple frame captions
    · Ease of caption generation from a CCaption/MacCaption description file

    Enhanced TV support (CCaption only):
    · Support for Advanced Television Enhancement Forum Transport A Triggers
    · Creation of URL, LID, Type, Name, Expires, Script and View fields

    V-Chip features (CCaption only):
    · Support for the Television Parental Guidelines rating system
    · Support for the Motion Picture Association of America rating system

    Requirements:

    · QuickTime 7 or later

    Limitations:

    · Can work with only 20 to 30 captions.
    · Can not save the file.
    · Random characters are replaced by question marks in AutoSync or Export modes.
