D-Vision For Mac

D-Vision is an unsupported Mac OS X application which provides an intuitive graphical user interface for encoding Divx 3, Divx4 and Xvid using Mencoder.

In other words, D-Vision is a software GUI for the Mplayer / Mencoder utility. From the main window, you can specify the target file and several options for changing the file after encoding.

The Video tab of the main window enables you to configure several parameters of the video such as filters, quality, video bitrate and dimension settings.

The Audio tab enables you to set the audio codec, audio bitrate, channel, gain and bitrate type. Moreover, the Subtitles tab lets you enable or disable the subtitles and load subtitles if they're enabled.

The D-Vision application also includes a Tools window that is comprised of the AVI tools, Audio tools and Miscellaneous tools. The AVI tools enable you to segment, join or repair AVI files.

The Audio tools allow you to perform audio conversions and add audio tracks. As for the Miscellaneous tools, they are designed to help you re-encode AVI and MPG files, join VOB files, manage the subtitles or access the Demux OGM utility.   D-Vision also features a comprehensive Preferences window which includes the General tab, a tab to configure the tasks, one to personalize the "preview encoding in progress" action and a tab to change the language.
