pearPad is a little application that turns your iPhone/iPod Touch into a remote trackpad and keyboard for your Mac. This comes in handy for example if you connect your Mac to an HDTV to show off some pictures, browse the web, or give a presentation. pearPad gives you almost full control in your palm.
It supports configurable swipe-gestures (quick strokes across the iPhone/iPod Touch screen, for example convenient to quickly switch photos in iPhoto or Aperture), scrolling with two fingers, mouse cursor positioning (like a trackpad), text-entry using th
pearPad consists of two parts:
The first part is the application running on the iPhone/iPod Touch, which is available at the AppStore for just under 4 USD.
The second part is the application running on your Mac called pearPad Remote. This application listens to and interprets the commands sent to it by pearPad.
Once pearPad Remote is launched and activated on your Mac, pearPad on the iPhone / iPod Touch will automatically find your computer in your local network using Bonjour. Of course, you can also specifiy an IP-Address the old fashioned way if you need or want to. Just make sure, your firewall does not block the pearPad port (can be configured too, by default it's UDP 59999).
