jFile Chopper is a free Java-based application which enables you to split any file into a number of segments that you can then stitch together.
You will be able to chop files into any number of segments from the “Chopper” window which can be accessed via the File menu.
The “Chopper” window displays the file name, size, description (file format) and provides a field for entering the number segments you wish split your file into.
Moreover, you can chop files in two different formats: CMF and Batch / EXE (for Windows). After you’ve entered the segment number and chosen the format, you can click on “Apply” to start the chopping process.
The segment files will be created in the same location as the original file. You can use the resulting files to merge them into a bigger file using the “Combine” tool (accessed via the File menu as well).
jFile Chopper also provides three different user interface skins that can be switched from the “Skin” menu: default, ScoUnix and Windows.
Being developed using Java, jFile Chopper is cross-platform and can be used on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).
