Powerful utility capable to quickly hide or show hidden files and folders
Hidden directories or files are straightforward folders or files that are not displayed by default by the Mac OS X. Most hidden folders are used to store user preferences in order to preserve the state of a utility and, as a result, are automatically created by various apps.
Hidden files are a great way to “clear” the list of contents of any given directory, especially if these items are not meant to be modified.
Runs quietly in the background and stays out of sight
Thanks to XHiderPRO, you can now display or hide these type of files with just a couple of mouse clicks, fact that makes it a valuable app for most Mac users that need to access hidden system files or folders.
The lightweight application is distributed via a disk image that you just have to download and mount in order to copy XHiderPRO to a location of your choice, preferably the Applications folder. Once installed, you can launch XHiderPRO and access its status bar menu.
Hide files or folders containing personal or sensitive data
XHiderPRO offers you the option to hide or show hidden files in addition to the possibility to hide your own files and folders. To hide or unhide any given folder or file, you are required to simply drag and drop it onto XHiderPRO’s status bar icon.
XHiderPRO performed as advertised during our testing period and, as a result, allowed us to hide and show different files and folders. However, we would have liked XHiderPRO even more if it featured global keyboard shortcuts for the hide and show functions.
