Weather forecasting is not precisely an exact science, yet staying informed on the latest climate changes in your area is very important: you will be able to both avoid small inconveniences and take pertinent decisions in vital situations.

Wx is a small weather application designed to display information about the current weather conditions for location within the United States of America. The app also provides the weather forecast, eventual warnings and a radar view (7 radar types are available).

Wx is gathering data from the United states National Weather service through XML files and creates comprehensive visual representations. You can set up different locations by taking into account the NSW observation sites and the NEXRAD radar sites. This way you will be able to access more accurate informations.

For each established location, Wx is providing a 7 days summary “point” forecast and a 7 day pro analysis. The latter includes more complex data, such as the actual and the apparent temperature, the relative humidity, the dew point, the wind speed and direction, the cloud cover, the probability of precipitation and the possible liquid or snow amount.

Since Wx is able to provide weather information and forecasts for locations taking into account longitude or latitude data, the app is great if you are planning outdoor events in mountainous or coastal regions.

Wx allows you to use one of the 40 default NWS weather maps or you can use the ones provided by your favorite weather provider: simply input the map URL and the app will take care of the rest. Last but not least, Wx can display the weather info in the Dock icon and offers information about the sun and moon phase.

To sum up, Wx enables you to view detailed weather information provided by the Unites States Weather Service in a clean and organized manner, but also enables you to use your own weather maps.
