Works Document Viewer For Mac

Works Document Viewer is a self-explanatory application that enables you to preview WPS documents and convert them into the RTF, TXT, DOC, DOCX or PDF file format.

Microsoft Works is a discontinued office suite offered by Microsoft that provided a word processor, a spreadsheet and a database management system as well as a calendar and dictionary app. The final release of Microsoft Works was in September 2007.

Thanks to Works Document Viewer, you no longer have to fire up your old computer or borrow a PC in order to view Works email attachments or old files. To open a WPS file you just have to access the File menu and Open the file you want to preview.

It is worth mentioning that Works Document Viewer, as its own name states, is not a WPS editor. However, Works Document Viewer is capable to convert the much needed files into a file format supported by Mac OS X.

Unfortunately, Works Document Viewer is not able to preserve complex page formatting, margins, metadata, headers or footers. Another disadvantage is its inability to handle spreadsheet files with the XLR file extension.

Works Document Viewer can extract text and basic text formatting from Works documents created using the Windows version of the office suite. Works documents created with the Mac version of Microsoft Works are not supported.

However, once you converted your WPS documents to the RTF, TXT, DOCX, DOC or PDF file format you can open and edit them using third party applications such as Apple’s Pages, Microsoft Word, or Adobe Acrobat Pro.
