Music Tag for Mac2.01
Music Tag is a lightweight and very easy-to-use Mac OS X application specially made to help you download missing artwork and song information for your music collection.
Update and fix your music library with just a couple of mouse clicks
Music Tag comes with a simple and user-oriented interface that allows you to load single files or entire folders with music, check the existing metadata and download the missing information along with the album artwork from the web.
With the help of Music Tag’s advanced digital fingerprint technology you’ll be able to accurately identify all your tracks and grab the correct artwork and metadata from Music Tag’s music library. All grabbed information is saved in your music file from where other players can also access the data.
Automatically or manually edit track info and grab album artwork from the web
As follows, Music Tag helps you view and change the track title, artist and album name, genre, release year, track and disc number, composer name, grouping and comment. In addition, you have the option to listen to the track, download only the artwork, load the artwork from file, undo changes or remove the artwork.
The top toolbar makes it easy to load, remove and clear the list with loaded items, download tags and save your changes. Moreover, the View menu enables you to filter the loaded tracks and view only untagged items, partially tagged files or modified files.
Comes with a limited song database and crashes unexpectedly while scanning for track data
Unfortunately, Music Tag crashed every time we tried to apply any of the above mentioned filters and the same happened when we tried to grab metadata information for multiple files at a time. Also the used music library can prove to be quite small and, as a result, you might not find the necessary information for some of your artists or songs.
We would have appreciated Music Tag even more if it provided the option to load your iTunes library with just a mouse click without having to browse your hard disk for the right folder.
