VSCO Keys For Mac

VSCO Keys is an Adobe Lightroom plug-in that seamlessly integrates with your system and offers you the possibility to activate custom keyboard layouts while editing images.

Since you will not have to waste time moving your mouse on the screen, using VSCO Keys can save you a lot of editing time, especially if your are working on a large display.

In theory, installing the VSCO Keys plug-in is quite straightforward: make sure that your Adobe Lightroom app is not running, download the VSCO Keys archive and run the included installer.

The next step is to launch the Adobe Lightroom app, go to the Plug-ins Manager via the file menu, and add the VSCO Keys plug-in that you can find in your Applications directory.

However, this is where you might encounter some issues: during our test, when trying to activate the VSCO Keys plug-in by providing the license code, the VSCO Keys app repeatedly asked for the system admin key and quitting regardless if it was provided or not.

To bypass this issue, open the System Preferences window, navigate to the Security panel, and add the VSCO Keys app to the list of utilities that can control your Mac. The problem is that there is no hint that such a procedure is required, so you are pretty much left to fend for yourself.

Once installed, the VSCO Keys plug-in will place a menulet in your status bar where you can choose the layout you want to activate while working in Adobe Lightroom. The plug-in comes with 2 pre-installed layouts that you can edit online.

Note that you should create a free VSCO Keys account to receive a trial license key, but also to access the online tools.

The only way in which you can create custom layouts is to go online: make the appropriate adjustments, download the layout file, and then install it on your machine.
