Type2Phone is a straightforward OS X application specially designed to help you use your Mac's keyboard as a wireless keyboard for your iOS device or Apple TV.

Moreover, Type2Phone is available on the Mac App Store and, thus, the installation process is pretty straightforward, all you need being an Apple ID. Beside your Apple ID you also have to provide the password and confirm your purchase before installing the app.

From Type2Phone's main window you will be able to connect to various iOS device or Apple TV and start typing. The "Connect To" slide menu helps you connect to a certain device or disconnect from your mobile device.

By accessing the File menu, you can easily choose a keyboard layout from the extensive list that includes layouts for a wide variety of languages such as German, French, Arabic, Czech, Hebrew, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Swiss French and German, Dutch and more.

Besides allowing you to paste your text, the Edit menu helps you start the Dictation, the Consumer keys and function keys are available under the Special menu and you can also view the list of known devices from the Preferences window and assign keyboard shortcuts to all your devices with ease.

The Disconnect / Reconnect tab allows you to enable or disable options like automatically reconnect upon launch, on keyboard input or after waking from sleep. The "Allow for different keyboard layouts for different devices" option can be enabled or disabled from the Additional Settings tab.
