Trickster For Mac

Trickster is a simple Mac app designed to improve your performance by enabling you to quickly access recently used files or applications, via an unobtrusive status bar menu. The app allows you to define watch filters, creates a list of recently used files, and provides support for dealing with common tasks.

To take advantage of the Trickster capabilities, you must start by defining your own filter settings by adding watched folders or whitelisted text. You can also filter the results by creating text, path, or extension exclusion lists.

Note that Trickster also comes with a collection of predefined filters that organize the recently opened files into different categories: images, documents, movie files, audio files, downloads, or items that are included in your Dropbox folder.

Within the Trickster main window, you have the option to visualize the files in compact or expanded view. The latter is highly recommended because you also get to see the file path. On top of the category filters, Trickster also enables you to sort the items in the list by time or by name.

If this is not enough, Trickster also includes a basic search tool that should reveal the file you are looking for in no time. Once you found the file you ere looking for, you can open it using a certain app, you can reveal it in the Finder, share it with friends, and so on.
