Touvaly Lite is a file cataloguing application for the Mac OS X platform that can scan the contents of large folders and create ‘pseudo copies’ of them. The advantage of using Touvaly Lite is that it helps you keep track of all the files that are available on external disks, CDs, DVDs, etc.

The application is able to scan and create ‘pseudo copies’ of any file that keep the same properties, such as name, kind, creation date, original size, creator, etc, but which occupy much less space. In other words, ‘pseudo copies’ are empty files that act as shortcuts to the original files.

Furthermore, working with Touvaly Lite is extremely simple, as the app comes with a minimal looking user interface where you can just drag and drop the folder you want to scan. After that, you must select the output folder and then the app scans finds, collects and copies the files.

As expected, the folder structure is preserved in the scanned copy. Additionally, Touvaly Lite enables you to double click on the pseudo copy to open the original file. This is great when you need to quickly open a file.

On the whole, Touvaly Lite is a really handy utility for any users who keep large collections of files on external disks / drives and want a simple way to catalogue data included on those devices. The app is a great way to browse the contents of external disks without connecting the them.
