Tomato Ticker for Mac
The Pomodoro technique aims to help you improve your productivity level by taking relaxing breaks after a working session. The final goal is to make you evaluate how much time you need to perform a certain task, and organize your time better.
Of course, to actually get results, both the working and break periods must be protected: you do not have to get distracted during a working session, while using the break timers to actually relax.
Extremely unobtrusive Pomodoro utility
The Tomato Ticker user interface is represented by a small status bar menu where you can start the pomodoro timer: if the app is active, you will also visualize the countdown in the status bar icon. The same area allows you to quickly adjust the working, short break, and long break timers.
The working sessions can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, while the brakes can vary between 5 and 30 minutes. A short break timer is triggered after each working session, but one every 4 pomodoros, the long break counter kicks in.
Seamlessly integrates with the Notifications Center
Tomato Ticker makes use of the OS X Notifications Center to display audio and visual alerts when the working sessions or breaks start or finish. Via the System Preferences you can easily change the alert display mode, change the notification sound, or simply disable any of them.
Unsophisticated but highly efficient activity timer
Breaking tasks into small working sessions and making sure that you take your time to relax once in a while can help you improve your overall productivity level: it will help you focus better. Tomato Ticker is a small application that can help you organize your time by using the Pomodoro technique without too much hustle.
