TNEF`s Enough for Mac
Switching to a Mac computer or working with people that use Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange can raise some issues if you need to browse data stored in TNEF files.
Microsoft Outlook will send emails containing TNEF files to all contacts that can receive “Rich Text” even if they do not use Outlook to open the messages. TNEF`s Enough is a simple application that offers you the possibility to view the TNEF files on your Mac in no time.
TNEF`s Enough can be placed in your Dock for easy access and you can open winmail.dat files by simply dragging and dropping them on top of the app’s icon. Additionally, you can use the Command+O hotkey or the File menu to open specific files.
The TNEF`s Enough app will help you view the winmail.dat file's message body and its attachments, but it will also show information about the sender, the recipient and the sent date. Moreover, it offers you the possibility to export the message attachments and copy the message body to the clipboard.
In addition, the export workflow is extremely simple: just drag and drop the attachments to a location of your choice or select the files you want to extract, navigate to the File menu and choose the Export or Export All entries. In addition, you can double click on a file and the export process will be launched instantly.
Keep in mind, though, that TNEF`s Enough simply decodes information generated by Microsoft Exchange. In some cases the reverse-engineering is not very accurate and some fields, for example the message body or any other area, might be left blank.
TNEF`s Enough proved to be an extremely useful application whenever we needed to open winmail.dat files, without using the Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange applications.
