SyncScrubber - Toggle on or off the annoyingly useless .mac icon in iSync

SyncScrubber is a simple application with a simple function: to allow you to toggle on or off the annoyingly useless .mac icon in iSync. When you launch SyncScrubber it will first check to see if iSync is runnclosed.

SyncScrubber will make a backup of your iSync application just in case something does go wrong, and from the File Menu it's just one click to restore your iSync applicayou can also erase the backup.

Before and after you toggle the .mac icon on or off, a preview pane in the application will show you the current status so you can easily see what the result will be.

Note that the image is stylized, showing the .mac icon and a theoretically-paired mobile phone. Your iSync interface will probably look different.There's even a "Launch iSync" button that will allow you to conveniently launch your iSync application to see the changes first-hand.

Requirements:

￭ iSync 2.3 or 2.4, and an account with admin privileges.


NOTE: The backup file is stored in "~/Library/Application Support/SyncScrubber" as a ZIP archive. You can also drag this file and folder to the trash when un-installing. We'd suggest that you keep the iSync backup around just in case you need it.
