StageTimer for Mac
StageTimer is a practical and easy-to-use OS X application that provides support for audiovisual professionals by creating countdown timers for on-stage presenters. The advantage is that you can use multiple timers on the same screen.
The application comes with a standard OS X user interface divided into 3 tabs: for creating timer entries, configuring the control and for sending messages. StageTimer also provides a Preferences window that can be accessed from the upper right corner.
Adding entries is quite straightforward, as you only need to enter insert properties (name and type), specify the start and end times and configure the alert. Furthermore, you can create as many timer entries as you wish and manage them from a simple panel.
By accessing the Control tab, you can see how multiple timers at the same time work. In this tab, you can also enter the timer’s text message and choose the fullscreen display. Moreover, you can enable / disable individual timers and select a title from your own collection.
As specified, there is also a Messages section where you can view all connected clients and write your message. You have the choice to send a written message to all clients or only to the selected one.
StageTimer provides some extra flexibility through its Preferences window where you can change the timer’s background color, image, image transparency, image blur and the overtime text. Several other settings related to the 1st and 2nd timers, messages and networking are included, as well.
In a nutshell, StageTimer can serve as a reliable presentation timer for professionals. You can use it to easily create cues for each presenter in which you can set an end / start timer and alert. If you seek a lightweight stage countdown timer, take a closer look at StageTimer.
