Split & Concat 3.0

Split & Concat is a straightforward OS X application that enables you to easily join files downloaded from the Internet or split a large file into multiple smaller ones in order to share them via e-mail.

The demo version of Split & Concat is available on the developer's website and is pretty easy to install. After unarchiving the ZIP file you just have to mount the DMG image and copy Split & Concat to your Mac's Applications folder.

Split & Concat comes with an user-friendly interface that provides the necessary tools to split, concat and create Par files.

In order to get started you have to drag and drop a file onto the app's dock icon and the application determines which task to perform based on the extension of the file.

The first function is designed to help you split large files in order to share them via e-mail or burn very large files on multiple DVDs. Split & Concat enables you to choose the size of the split parts and the output directory every time you choose to split a file.

Concat, short for concatenate, is the second function provided by Split & Concat and enables you to quickly and easily join two or more files into a single file. You will need this function every time you come across binary files that are divided into multiple parts.

Create Par files is another useful function that will help you create Par or Par2 compressed files that incorporates a group of resource files and portal components.

Unfortunately, the last function is not available in the demo version. However, you can unlock this feature if you donate at least 1$.

In conclusion, Split & Concat is a practical utility that comes as a solution to users who are not comfortable performing split and joint functions from a Terminal window.
