Smart Notes 5.1
A no-frills and easy-to-use OS X tool to quickly create, organize, as well as to synchronize simple notes with iPhone and iPad clients
Getting started with Smart Notes is a walk in the park thanks to its intuitive design. From the main window, you can work with a sidebar on the left that lets you manage notebooks, a middle pane that lists the entries in a notebook and the writing area on the right where you can insert note content.
Furthermore, there are 2 default notebooks that lists all and the uncategorized notes. Moreover, you are able to move notes from one category to another with a simple drag’n’drop. As for the note list goes, it displays the beginning of the note as the title and sorts notes based on modified date or name (this can be changed from the View menu).
One major advantage of using Smart Notes is that it automatically saves your notes as you type. This eliminates the need to click on a save button or hit a keyboard shortcut every time you want to save the document. What’s more, a search bar helps you find notes across all notebooks.
On the downside, the application does not support text formatting. However, a feature that you might enjoy is the ability to password protect your notes from prying eyes. Some other advantages include syncing data with iOS counterparts via iCloud and sharing notes on Twitter or Facebook.
In short, Smart Notes is an unsophisticated and intuitive writing application for everyday note-taking. It comes with many benefits and, most importantly, with support for syncing with iOS versions of the app.
