Skedaddle For Mac

Skedaddle is a lightweight macOS application that provides a safe hiding place for your most important files. The app creates a “hideout” folder on your Mac to which you can drag and drop files and folders. Moreover, you can password-protect and easily show / hide it any time you wish.

What sets Skedaddle apart from the other file hiding apps is that files protected by it can not be detected via the Finder or 3rd party file launchers. The hideout place can be placed to the left, right, up or down edges of your desktop. You can set a global hotkey to show / hide it.

As for the looks, the hideout features an elegant black design and offers a few view options for the files inside it. You can change the icon size, grid spacing, text size, toggle an option to “snap to grid” and change the label position - to the right or bottom.

Skedaddle is very easy to work with, as you only need to drag and drop files to it. No additional functions are provided.

However, you can toggle optional settings such as launching the app at login and displaying a menu bar item whenever the hideout is visible.

In a nutshell, Skedaddle offers a very simple solution to securely hiding sensitive data from prying eyes. Other users will not be able to access your files, unless they know your password.
