Mac OS X Lion has disabled the color option for the icons displayed in the Sidebar of every Finder window.
SideEffects installs and combines tricks created by several developers in order to re-enable the color icons in Lion's Sidebar.
By default, SideEffects will install SIMBL in /Library/ScriptingAdditions; ColorfulSidebar in /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins and RelaunchFinder.
SideEffects will also update the Login Items in order to make RelaunchFinder.app run when the computer is restarted of if a user logs out and in again.
What's new in SideEffects 1.8.7:
- Due to new code, there is no need to click the "Use SIMBL" checkbox during installation.
- The setting will hold after user is logged out or Mac restarted,
- fixing an issue some users experienced with 1.8.6.1.
