Shroud is a free and open source, easy to use Mac OS X utility which places a solid-color backdrop behind windows or applications on your Mac so that you can focus on the task at hand.
Unlike some similar applications, the backdrop doesn't activate when you click on it, messing up your carefully arranged workspace.
Shroud will also (optionally) obscure your menu bar until you move the mouse over it.
What's new in Shroud 1.2.1 Build 18:
- Note: This version requires OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or later, including OS X 10.9 Mavericks and 10.10 Yosemite. Shroud 1.2 is the last version to support Mac OS X 10.6 and OS X 10.7.
- Fix Shroud’s Dock icon not matching the selected backdrop color when Shroud is opened.
- Fix toggling Shroud not working in OS X 10.10.
- Work around an issue in OS X 10.11 El Capitan beta which caused Shroud to be unable to place its backdrop as expected.
