Sachesi is a cross-platform tool that makes it as easy as possible for you to backup, restore, wipe, reboot, “nuke” or install the latest firmware on your BlackBerry 10 device. In other words, Sachesi aims to be a far more versatile and flexible tool when compared with the official BlackBerry tools.
Learning to use this application should pose any kind of difficulties to anyone, with the exception of some problems when connecting your BlackBerry device, but, considering the fact that Sachesi is still a relative young project, some hiccups are expected.
This said, Sachesi comes with a streamlined and basic interface with only five tab menus, namely Device, Extract, Search, Backup, and Install. If it is the first time you are using Sachesi, you will want to go to the Install tab and enter your password, so that the USB connection can be established.
Once Sachesi recognizes your BlackBerry device, it will first display a list with all your currently installed applications.
Considering that most users will probably use Sachesi to upgrade their BlackBerry phones to the latest firmware, we will write a few words about this before enything else. In order to do that, go to the Search menu, where by clicking the Search button, Sachesi will automatically detect and find the latest operating system for your BlackBerry.
From here, you have two options: you can either click the “Grab Links” button, and manually download the firmware files with a downloader app, or you can click “Download All” button and the files will automatically be downloaded directly through the app.
Once the firmware files have been downloaded, you can go in the Install menu, drag and drop the folder that Sachesi has created and downloaded, or click on the “Install Folder” option and select it from the list.
Moving forward, Sachesi also enables you to quickly backup your BlackBerry phone by simply accessing the Backup menu, selecting what exactly you want to backup from a list of three possible options, namely Application data, Media, and Device Settings and Local Contacts/Calendar, and clicking the “Create Backup”.
One last thing, from the Extract menu, you can split the components of an auto-loader, or even create your own auto-loaders by combining them by folder or by files. What’s more, you can also extract applications out of auto-loaders with the help of the “Extract Apps” option.
Looking at the way that Sachesi makes things simple when you are dealing with BlackBerry firmware files, plus the fact that it can backup and restore your phone, it wouldn’t be unfair to say that it is a must-have application for any BlackBerry user.
