SSH Proxy is a user-friendly and intuitive macOS application that enables you to turn various remote SSH servers into SOCKS v5 proxies that you can use depending on the website you want to reach.
What is more, SSH Proxy is designed to remember your SSH login passwords and private key passphrases and store them in your Mac OS X’s keychain. On top of that, SSH Proxy is capable to automatically reconnect every time your computer is waking up from sleep.
From SSH Proxy’s status bar menu you can turn your proxy on or off, select the proxy you want to use and add a site to your Whitelist.
You can configure SSH Proxy to use a proxy for all visited websites, only for the websites present on your Whitelist or remove all proxies altogether.
The menu bar icon helps you check your proxy usage status without accessing SSH Proxy’s menu while the Preferences window helps you set your listening port.
Moreover, you can also configure SSH Proxy to automatically turn on the proxy when the application starts, launch at login and share SOCKS v5 on LAN.
By accessing the Servers tab, you can view the list with all your proxies and add new ones for which you have to provide the SSH server, port and login information.
It is worth mentioning that you can use either a password or a public key as an authentication method. The Advanced slide sheet helps you enable the SSH compression and connect through a proxy server.
Thanks to SSH Proxy’s Whitelist you can tell the application which websites should be loaded through SOCKS v5 proxy. You can easily batch import Google, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Blogger, BBC, Vimeo, IMDB, Wordpress, Wikipedia, Amazon and other popular websites.
