RAMDrive is a small OS X app that allows you to create a RAM disk. If your computer has a large amount of memory you can reserve a part of it for the RAM disk.
The speed of such disk can be up to 5 GB per second! It can be used for tasks that require a high speed of the disk system or extensively use the disk system. For example, you can use RAMDrive for optimizing the work of SSD.
The main disadvantage of the RAM disk is that it is created in the volatile memory. It means that data on it disappear after each reset. RAMDrive has a number of functions that make the work with the RAM disk more comfortable.
RAMDrive supports automatic mounting of the disk when starting the system. Additionally, you can set the automatic backing up of the disk at logging off the system and recovery at logging in.
RAMDrive has a very simple interface. You just need to select the size of a disk to be created and specify the required functionality.
NOTE: To buy RAMDrive via the App Store, an Apple account is required.
