RADAR Pro for Mac
United States National Reader Service is making use of a Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) network that is comprised of over 160 high resolution S band Doppler weather radars. RADAR Pro offers you the possibility to visualize some of the collected information on your desktop.
The application is receiving data from the National Weather Service servers and allows you to access NEXRAD level 3 weather details in a very graphical manner. The RADAR Pro map is covering all the 50 states, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Since RADAR Pro will not smooth the original images in any way, the graphics will provide a very accurate precipitation representation. At the same time, you will also be able to see on the map different types of issued warnings for severe weather: tornado (red), thunderstorm (yellow) or flash food (green).
Browsing the RADAR Pro map will prove to be quite intuitive. The app allows you to zoom in and out or pan. The RADAR Pro displays the US outline, state and county boundaries, major highways and different cities and towns.
What’s more, RADAR Pro provides support for viewing animations and you can easily launch them by using the classic player buttons situated on the bottom of the app’s main window.
The RADAR Pro user interface should not raise problems even for the most inexperienced users: the main area displays the weather map while the left side panel allows you to browse the radars and warning lists. Note that you can select a specific entry and RADAR Pro will display all the available information right below.
To sum up, RADAR Pro allows you to view weather details regarding the precipitation level gathered by the NEXRAD network and also includes details about the severe weather warnings issued by the United States National Weather Service.
