Present For Mac

Designed with users that are into creating OS X software tutorials, Present is a small application that provides you with all the necessary tools for recording your Mac’s desktop screen.

In order to take advantage of Present’s list of capabilities, after the installation process in completed, you must open OS X’s System Preferences, select Security and Privacy, choose Accessibility from the left pane, click the plus button, and add Present.app to the list of apps that have control over your Mac.

After this process is taken care of, you can effortlessly and quickly record your Mac’s screen activity by simply accessing Present’s status bar menu  and clicking the red dotted record button.

For a better understanding from the viewer’s behalf, during your screen recording, all your inputs will be displayed via the Input Viewer, located (by default) on the bottom left part of your Mac’s screen.

The Input Viewer displays keyboard, mouse and tablet inputs and interactions and is visible for both the viewer and for yourself.

For more comprehensive screen recordings, Present provides you with the possibility to add screen notes to your desktop recordings. Screen notes can easily be activated by clicking the “Show Note” entry from the app’s menu or with the help of the “ALT + SHIFT + 1” keyboard shortcut.

As far as customizability is concerned, Present enables you to deactivate the mouse movements during the recordings and to choose from four stroke colors, as well as to change the place of the screen where the keyboard, mouse and tablet movements are displayed.

Unfortunately, during our tests on four different Macs, Present proved to be quite unstable and uncooperative. Thus, the application froze on all our testing machines and the "Screen Note" features didn't perform as expected (the screen was instantly filled with a lot of graphics glitches).

To conclude, Present is a straightforward and application that helps you record your Mac’s screen activity with just a few mouse clicks and without having to go through overly complicated procedures in the process of doing so.
