QR Code for Mac
QR Code is a slim and very easy-to-use OS X application that is capable of generating QR codes for a variety of information, including URLs, SMS messages, phone numbers, text and contacts from your Address Book. The app comes with a sleek user interface and multiple sizes for the QR Code image.
From the main window, you can start encoding different types of information in several tabs. In the first, you can just enter a URL and then the app will create and display a QR code on the spot. The size can be adjusted using a slider or by clicking on buttons for standard sizes: small, medium, large and extra-large.
Furthermore, in the next tabs, you can enter a phone number, a text message (for mobile phones) and a piece of text, then encode them to a QR code. The advantage is that, when you are scanning these codes with your phone, a phone number, a new SMS message and a piece of text will be copied to your phone.
In addition to this, QR Code integrates with OS X’s address book, so it can display your contacts in a neat list. Creating a QR code for a contact requires only a click. After creating this QR code and scanning it with your device, a new contact will be added into the address book of that device.
All things considered, QR Code is quite a versatile alternative to all other QR code generators on the market. Unlike many of them, this one supports encoding phone numbers, contacts, SMS and text, too. However, before considering purchasing the app, you might want to read user reviews on the most up-to-date version.
